I wish to start a video game parlor. What are the licenses I require?
You require a Premises license, a Ticket selling license and a Performance license.

The Premises license and the Ticket-selling license are issued by the office of the Commissioner of Police. The Performance license is issued by the office of the Divisional Asstt. Commissioner of Police. Apply on plain paper affixing Rs. 5 Court fee Stamp.

What are the requirements to start the said business?
You have to submit following documents along with your application: 
1. Rent receipt (current) or document showing ownership/title/rights is required
2. Site plan and location plan signed by the architect
3. List of video games
4. Certificate of the Electrical Inspector
5. NOC from the Health Department of the CONCERNED CORPORATION  
6. Certificate from MTNL, if telephone is installed in the premises
7. No objection from the local members of public
8. Undertaking regarding not installing gambling machines.
9. NOC from the Fire Bridge Office

Unless you submit these documents your application will not be processed and you cannot start the business just by making an incomplete application.

After the receipt of all the required documents the application will be processed. Enquiries will be made by the concerned Police station regarding suitability of the place and from the point of law and order situation.

Rules for Licensing and Controlling Places of Public Amusement (other than cinemas) and Performances for Public Amusements including Melas and Tamashas 1960.

The process will take minimum 30 to 45 days from the date of submission of all the required documents.

Premises license fee (annually) Rs. 100 per machine (per month)
Ticket selling fee Rs. 100 per year performance
License fee (this will be collected by Divisional Asstt. commissioner of Police)

What is the procedure for the renewal of license?
You will have to make an application along with the copy of your license one month prior to the expiry of the license. You will also have to submit valid NOC's along with the application. Enquiries will be made through the concerned Police station, and after the receipt of the enquiry report, you will be duly intimated.
